Top 10 Thursday; NFL Football

Week 9 of the season as come to an end and with many teams continuing their strides, one new face emerges in this week’s top 10.

10. Jacksonville Jaguars (5-3) Previous Rank: N/A
Last game: Defeated the Cincinnati Bengals 23-7
Next game: Sunday against the Los Angeles Chargers
The defense for the Jaguars has been the key to there success this season as they rank first in points allowed per game (14.6) and sacks (35)

 

9. Dallas Cowboys (5-3) Previous Rank: 8
Last game: Defeated the Kansas City Chiefs 28-17
Next game: Sunday against the Atlanta Flacons
The Cowboys have a really productive offense behind Elliott and Prescott.

 

 

8. New Orleans Saints (6-2) Previous Rank: 10
Last game: Defeated the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 30-10
Next game: Sunday against the Buffalo Bills
​The defense has improved a lot since last season and rookie Alvin Kamara has showed his worth in the offense.

 

7. Seattle Seahawks (5-3) Previous Rank: 5
Last game: Lost to the Washington Redskins 14-17
Next game: Thursday night against the Arizona Cardinals
​Russell Wilson has done what he can for this offense both in passing and rushing terms. Build a nice line around him and the Seahawks would look like a much better team.

 

6. Los Angeles Rams (6-2) Previous Rank: 6
Last game: Defeated the New York Giants 51-17
Next game: Sunday against the Houston Texans
​McVay has made a high caliber offense in his first season as head coach. Young offensive players Goff and Gurley have been exciting to watch this season.

 

5. Kansas City Chiefs (6-3) Previous Rank: 4
Last game: Lost to the Dallas Cowboys 28-17
Next game: Bye
​Kareem Hunt has slowed down recently and with that being said if the Chiefs want to find success Alex Smith will have to make some big plays for the offense.

 

4. Minnesota Vikings (6-2) Previous Rank: 7
Last game: Bye
Next game: Sunday against the Washington Redskins
​Keenum has been impressive for this team so far this season and the defense deserves credit as they have allowed the third fewest points per game this season.

 

3. Pittsburgh Steelers (6-2) Previous Rank: 3
Last game: Bye
Next game: Sunday against the Indianapolis Colts
​Pittsburgh has a three game winning streak and thanks to running back Le’Veon Bell looking like himself again expect this offense to continue the hot streak.

 

2. New England Patriots (6-2) Previous Rank: 2
Last game: Bye
Next game: Sunday against the Denver Broncos
​The defense is slowing improving but so far this season but they haven’t blown out any opponents. Tom Brady will continue to lead this team to victory this season.

 

1. Philadelphia Eagles (8-1) Previous Rank: 1
Last game: Defeated the Denver Broncos 51-23
Next game: Bye
​Jay Ajayi rushed for his first touchdown of the season during his first game with the Eagles. If the Eagles can generate a solid run game the offense will be an elite threat with Carson Wentz.
