Dawg Pound Scoop: Struggles Continue

Still searching for their first win, the Browns headed “across the pond” to take on the Minnesota Vikings in a battle in London. They hoped a new change of scenery would help step up their game, but it did anything but that. The Browns stuck with the Vikes in the first half, but they pulled away in the second half and the Browns could never recover.

The Browns decided to start fast in this one, with Isaiah Crowell jumping on the board with a 26 yard TD run, despite a Zane Gonzalez missed extra point. The Vikings made it 6-3, though, after a Kai Forbath 35 yarder, and that is all the scoring the first quarter would see.

WR Adam Thielen hauled in a 18 yard Case Keenum pass to open up the second quarter, but the Browns came right back to take the lead 13-9, on a DeShone Kizer 1 yard TD run. Kai Forbath would steal the lead right back just before half, though, with a 34 yarder.

The second half is where the Vikings turned on the jets and took over. Two touchdowns, produced by Jerick McKinnon and Kyle Rudolph, and two Kai Forbath field goals were all the Vikings needed, as their defense picked up and held the Browns to one field goal the rest of the way. It was the Vikings style of play on display, as the defense held their own, and the offense mass produced an easy 33-16 rout of the now 0-8 Cleveland Browns.

The Browns still have numerous changes that need to be made if the team wants to acquire a victory. This town is hungry for just one single victory, as the support is starting wear off as these almost winless seasons continue. The franchise is truly in trouble going forward, and drastic measures need to be taken in order to preserve what we have.
