Tribe Take: End of a Historic Regular Season

To finish off one heck of a regular season and capture the title of the best record in baseball, the Tribe managed to post a 4-2 record over the course of their last 6 games this week. The team faced two key teams in the White Sox and the Twins, and won both series to head into the postseason with all momentum in their favor.

Monday got started with an off day, so Tuesday was Game 1 against the Twins, and it was one to forget for the Tribe. Brian Dozier and Eddie Rosario came through in the clutch for the Twins, as they snuck by the Indians with a final of 8-6.

Game 2 was much better for the Tribe, as Danny Salazar pitched a gem, and the offense showed up, knocking in 4 runs and picking up a 4-2 victory.

Jay Bruce, Jason Kipnis, and Roberto Perez all went yard to back up an 8 ⅓ inning outing from Carlos Carrasco as the Tribe rolled through the Twins in the series finale, picking up win 100 on the year with a 5-2 victory.

Jay Bruce was back at it again, this time smacking a homer in the 6th inning of Game 1 against the White Sox. Trevor Bauer fanned 7 batters over 6 innings, and the Tribe cruised to their 101th win with a 10-1 domination.

It was the White Sox’s turn in Game 2, as rookie RHP Carson Fulmer pitched a solid 5 innings, allowing the visitors to scratch out a 2-1 victory on the road on Saturday.

And in the regular season finale on Sunday, Jay Bruce and Josh Tomlin were the performers of the game. Bruce added a 2 run single to a 3 run first, and Tomlin turned up with 5 ⅓  solid innings to lead the Tribe to a 3-1 victory.

STORY OF THE WEEK: With the regular season coming to a close, the 2017 Cleveland Indians have much to look back on. The streak, winning 100+ games, and the additions and subtractions along the way were all a part of the fun. But the real test is the postseason. The Indians play the winner of the Yankees and Twins on Thursday in Game 1 of the ALDS.
