Indianapolis Colts: Seattle Preview

After holding off the Cleveland Browns to claim their first win of the season, the Indianapolis Colts this week have been trying to prepare for what could very well be their toughest game of the season: facing the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday night football.  This will be the Colts’ only Sunday night football game of the season, and though most experts peg the Seahawks as double digit favorites, proving them right might be a more challenging task then they expect.

Positives: One thing that has been surprising this season is that the Seahawks have been rather disappointing so far this season. The Seahawks rank in the top half of the league in only pass defense (8th) while also being ranked 30th in run defense and 26th in points scored per game. The Colts have a surprisingly stout run defense that currently sits tied for 10th in the league which should force Seattle to be pass the ball against a unit that get top cornerback Vontae Davis back this week which should help out greatly.

Negatives: Though Jacoby Brissett has looked decent in both of his starts this season, this will be his first road start and Seattle is one of the toughest places to play. Also while the Seahawks may have one of the league’s worst run defenses, the Colts don’t exactly have the running game to take advantage of that.

Bottom Line: Simply put, the Seahawks just have not been a good team this year. Luckily for them a Colts team still trying to find it’s identity without Andrew Luck hasn’t been any better. While Vontae Davis and the Run Defense should keep Seattle’s offense relatively quite, the Colts offense looks to be even quieter. Final Score= Seahawks: 17 Colts: 10
