NBA Draft Sees Fultz go #1 & Ball #2

Markelle Fultz freshman guard out of Washington went number 1 to the Sixers, after Philadelphia swapped picks with the Celtics earlier in the week. Experts expected Fultz to go to the Sixers, as they plan to team him up with last years first pick of last years draft Ben Simmons. Fultz is considered to be the most NBA ready player in the draft. His one and only season at Washington he averaged 23 points a game, which is the third highest scoring average for a freshman in division 1 history.  The 18-year old guard said he wanted to be “the first pick badly” and the Sixers made that a reality.
Although Lavar Ball has been under fire for his sometimes controversial comments regarding his son Lonzo, he was right, as he predicted for months now that Lonzo  would be a Laker. Lonzo expressed how he felt to reporters moments after he was drafted. “I’m truly blessed to be able to play for my hometown,” Lonzo said, “and I can’t wait to get on the court.”
Lonzo will be looking to learn from Magic Johnson one of the best point guards to ever play the game.

“Obviously, he’s the best point guard to ever play,” Lonzo said of the Lakers’ president of basketball operations, “so I’m looking to go in there and just learn from day one.”

“There’s never going to be another Magic Johnson, so I’m trying to be myself. But if I can come halfway short of him, you know it’s going to be good.”

With the third selection in the draft the Celtics selected Jayson Tatum. Draft experts say that he has the most offensive polished game  in the draft. The Celtics were rumored to trading the third pick to the Knicks for Kristaps Porzingis, but the Knicks were asking for too much. The Celtics were also reportedly disappointed by the fact that the fourth pick in the draft Josh Jackson refused to workout with the team. Both Danny Ainge and Josh Jackson expressed both sides of their stories. After being selected fourth to the Suns, Jackson expressed regret for not working out with Boston.
