Thursday Top Ten; College Football Edition

  1. Alabama Crimson Tide (5-0)

Last Week: #1

Alabama had no problem with their SEC game against Kentucky. The next three games are going to be tougher as they are against ranked opponents starting with Arkansas. For now though, the only way for Alabama to lose the #1 spot is to lose a game.

2. Ohio State Buckeyes (4-0)

Last Week: #2

Ohio State had no problems with Rutgers this past weekend, and their is little doubt they will have any problems with Indiana this coming weekend. All they can do right now is hope for an Alabama loss to take over #1.

3. Clemson Tigers (5-0)

Last Week: #5

After a thrilling game against Louisville that ended in a win, Clemson jumps a few spots to #3.  Deshaun Watson had a rough game with 3 INT’S, but he was able to outplay other Hesiman hopeful, Lamar Jackson in the end. Clemson now looks to a road game against Boston College.

4. Michigan Wolverines (5-0)

Last Week: #4

Coming off a close game against Wisconsin, Michigan stays put in the rankings. They will have to wait until the three ahead of them lose, or play a seriously close game against an unranked opponent to move up. For now, they focus on Rutgers and staying at #4.

5. Houston Cougars (5-0)

Last Week: #6

After a blowout win over UConn, Houston cracks the Top 5 in this weeks rankings. They still have the advantage of an easy schedule going forward. For them, they will be on the outside looking in for the Playoffs if they lose one of those games.

6. Louisville Cardinals (4-1)

Last Week: #3

After the close loss on the road to Clemson, Louisville drops three spots this week. They will look to rebound this weekend with a home game against a dismal Duke team. All in all, they were lucky they made the game close, otherwise they may have dropped out of the Top 10.

7. Washington Huskies (5-0)

Last Week: #7

Washington stunned Stanford, beating them 44-6, and are now heavy favorites to win the PAC-12. A road game against Oregon this week shouldn’t be too much of an issue for them.

8. Texas A&M Aggies (5-0)

Last Week: #9

Texas A&M had a nice win over South Carolina this past weekend, but now comes the real test. A home game against Tennessee this Saturday afternoon will be a nice in conference test. They come into this game already have beaten two other Top 25 ranked teams.

9. Tennessee Volunteers (5-0)

Last Week: N/A

A newcomer to the Top 10, Tennessee has had a good season so far. In back-to-back weeks they have beaten Florida, and Georgia, both teams who were ranked in the Top 25 before those games. Now, they face a road test against Texas A&M, and the following week a home game against the nations top team, Alabama. A rough four weeks for the Volunteers.

10. Wisconsin Badgers (4-1)

Last Week: #8

Dropping to #10 after a close game against Michigan, Wisconsin showed their defense should be feared, but their offense shouldn’t be. In a old fashion, low scoring Big Ten game they failed to move the ball with consistency. Keeping is close keeps them in the Top 10 this week.

Dropping Out:

Stanford (#7 Last Week)

Christian McCaffrey can’t be the whole team, and Washington exposed that.
