Thursday Top Ten; NFL Edition

Here we go fans, this is my list of the Top Ten teams as of week 5 in the National Football League. This is the second edition so not only will you see where the teams fall this week but you also get to see how they compare to the week before. And as always if you do not agree, that is fine, just tell me why in the comment section below. You might even be able to change my mind, but I doubt it.

Last Week 10

With Ezekiel Elliott’s second straight 100-yard game (and then some), and Dak Prescott winning his third straight start, it’s easy to get excited about the Cowboys. Demarcus Lawrence comes back from suspension this week. Dez Bryant should return sooner than later.

Last Week Unranked

The last time the Los Angeles Rams were in first place in the NFC West through Week 4 was back in 1989, when Jim Everett was heaving long balls to Henry Ellard and Willie “Flipper” Anderson. Opponents are basically saying, “We’ll make Case Keenum, Brian Quick and Kenny Britt beat us.” On Sunday, they did just that.

Last Week 9

Ryan’s numbers thus far: 72.1 completion percentage, 368.3 yards per game, 11:2 TD-to-INT ratio and a 126.3 passer rating. Most notably, Ryan is averaging 10.5 yards per pass attempt.

Last Week 7

Green Bay’s next three games are in Lambeau Field, and they will not only have to win all three, but win them in a better and more convincing fashion than they have performed so far this year if they want to stay in this top ten.

Last Week 8

Russell Wilson put on quite a show and put the Seahawks on his injured back  hitting 23 of 32 passes for 309 yards and three touchdowns. Looking closer into that stat line, the hobbled QB averaged nearly 10 yards every time the football left his hand.

Last Week 6

What a response from the Steelers. A week after an absolute dismantling by the Eagles, they turn around and do the same thing to the Chiefs. The defense still has some work to do, but the offense can carry them somewhat, at least for the time being.

Last Week 5

After the way they manhandled the Steelers last week I had to keep them above the Steelers no matter how impressive the Steelers looked just a few days ago. So where does Philadelphia go from here? They will go to Detroit, to Washington and then return home to face the Vikings. Take two of those three, and this team is absolutely for real.

Last Week 1

An ugly showing last week to say the least. But, this week, the Patriots will get a man named Brady back, and they face one of the worse teams in football in the Cleveland Browns. I am sure the message of the week is one game at a time.

Last Week 4

I am falling in love with this team, and who would not. They have been dealt a bad hand at the poker table, yet they are still at the table. Sam Bradford has been impressive, but there defense has really been the story. Mike Zimmer is a defensive coach and his defense is smashmouth and I like them a lot.

Last Week 2

I can not believe that a team with basically a rookie quarterback is the #1 team in my top 10 this week. Kubiak called Trevor Siemian(sprained non-throwing shoulder) “day to day” on Monday. If he can’t go in Sunday’s game against the offensive minded Falcons, will Paxton Lynch be a downgrade? Who knows?
