50 Shades of Blue

chelseaflagWell well well, we have 3 points! We had a decent performance and Ladies and Gentleman we have a clean sheet! Courtesy of an Ivanovic dropping that is 38 games over due!

Lets start with the Line up and ratings.

Chelsea: Courtois (7), Azpilicueta (7), Cahill (7), Luiz (6), Alonso (7), Kante (7), Matic (6), Moses (8), Willian (8), Hazard (6), Costa (8).

Subs used: Oscar (5), Pedro (5), Chalobah (n/a).

The goals were scored by Willian and the in form Costa.

Chelsea should’ve had won by a bigger margin but were not as lethal as could’ve been. The 1st half was awful but Chelsea perked up in the 2nd half.

Chelsea played 3-5-2 from the start and it made a huge difference. Ivanovic was rightly dropped as I highlighted last week he was dreadful and has been for over a year. Finally Conte has had enough and made the big change.chelsea_victor_moses_500

Alonso had a solid game and I feel in time with every performance his confidence and form will grow.

Kante was solid and broke down a lot of play and should have scored but blazed over when seemed easier to score.

Victor Moses put in a fantastic performance and was awarded Man of the match but also picked up a hamstring injury which we hope he recovers from over the break.

Big shout to Chalobah who made his premier league debut.

It was nice to get the win and nice to finally keep a clean sheet. However our next 2 games are against Leicester and Man United.

The international break always seems to come at the wrong time for us. Hopefully Chelsea can now push on and start to play some decent football. We always seem to play such slow football and our build up play is so predictable! We need some swashbuckling football and a bit of dynamism in our play, but we too often make the wrong decisions in the final 3rd or we slow play down allowing opposition defenses to get back into position. I am hoping Conte can iron this out and turn us into a great attacking team.

In other news:thorganhazard2

Kurt Zouma and John Terry are set to return to full training after the International break which will be a huge boost to our defensive line.

Rumours are still running wild regarding Thorgan Hazard and if he is going to come back to Chelsea. I can say he would be a welcome addition and one that we should have nurtured in the 1st place.

Conte met with Abramovich and has said that the squad needs an overhaul. Ivanovic is set to be the one to now face the axe as his form has been noticed by the powers that be.

Tammy Abraham continued his great form at Bristol City. The on loan Chelsea striker is 18 and is on 11 goals for the season. Totally taking the league by storm.

There is no game this week as it is International weekend.

Pit of the week:

Hazards poor performance. It appears the Hazard of last season is creeping in, and he isn’t being as effective in games. His stop start football is really effecting our attacks, he needs to be more direct and a threat for 90 minutes. Too often he disappears.

Peak of the week:

Victor Moses performance. He was putting in challenges and was very direct and should of had a penalty. It was a fantastic performance for a man who has had to wait patiently for his chance!

Next Fixture: Leicester (H) October 15th

Until next time……….KTBFFH
