3 Impacts From Impact

The calendar is now turned to September, leaving a month remaining until Bound For Glory. What stood out on the first Impact of the ninth month? Here are my 3 Impacts From Impact!

After nearly eight months, the evil Maria Kanellis finally got what she wanted:  the Knockouts Championship. What was supposed to be a celebration for Allie’s Knockouts Championship win last week turned immensely sour, as Maria continued her bullying and berating of her long-suffering and naive apprentice. She then ordered Allie to lay down for her, which she reluctantly did. Three seconds later, the self-professed leader of the Knockouts became champion. Though it was done with absolutely no effort, Maria became the sixth WWE alum to hold the Knockouts Championship, joining Mickie James, Victoria (Tara), Brooke Tessmacher, Taryn Terrell, and Gail Kim on that list. With four Impacts left until Bound For Glory, one has to believe that Gail will be put back in the title picture as redemption for being screwed out of it two weeks ago. If that happens, Allie will most likely turn against Maria.

Another new champion was crowned, as DJ Z captured the vacant X Division Championship in an Ultimate X Gauntlet Match. DJ Z defeated Mandrews, Braxton Sutter, Rockstar Spud, Trevor Lee, and Andrew Everett to win the title for only the second time. How did DJ Z win? Lee and Everett, who are both part of the Helms Dynasty, both gained possession of the belt, but DJ Z jumped off the top rope and snatched it away. It has been a long time since DJ Z held the X Division Championship; in fact, it had a different look the last time he held it. So a new X Division Champion has been crowned, now we need the King of the Mountain Championship to have an owner as well.

The brief alliance to Mike Bennett and Moose is now over. The cracks began when Bennett eliminated Moose and Eddie Edwards in the battle royal last week, and his assumption that Moose would do what Bennett told him to do fell flat when he refused to hand Bennett a lead pipe to use on Lashley, which ended up costing Bennett the World Title. It didn’t help the self-professed “Miracle” that he got in Moose’s face and chewed him out, and he paid for it with a clothesline. So Moose vs Bennett should be a foregone conclusion for Bound For Glory.

Those are my 3 Impacts From Impact! Next week it’s “Delete or Decay”!! Until then!
