Eva Marie’s Husband Blasts WWE For Her Suspension

EvaMarieandJonathanCoyleEva Marie was the third wrestler to be suspended by WWE this week for violating their wellness policy. But, just hours after Eva Marie was banned by WWE for 30 days, her husband slammed her suspension and went as far as calling the punishment “unjust.”

The Total Divas star — whose real name is Natalie Coyle — was hit with the ban by the organization on Thursday, August 18, for breaching their wellness policy. But her spouse Jonathan Coyle claims fans will be “outraged” when they learn why she has been punished.

He took to social media, as almost everyone does these days, and he tweeted the following; “When the public finds out why my wife was unjustly suspended they will be absolutely outraged! Official statement and facts coming soon [sic].” He has vowed to be by his wife’s side throughout her difficulties.

The WWE implemented the WWE Talent Wellness Program in 2006 and it includes substance abuse and drug testing, cardiovascular testing, ImPACT, testing for brain function, annual physicals, and health care referrals.

TMZ is reporting that Eva Marie’s suspension was triggered by Adderall. It’s the same substance that Roman Reigns and Adam Rose failed for. The drug is commonly used for ADHD but it’s also used as a party drug. In 2013, NFL.com ran a story about Adderall being the drug of choice for many NFL players so it’s a problem in multiple sports. Some of the negative side effects can include: rapid or irregular heartbeat, delirium, panic, psychosis, and heart failure. The drug would be acceptable under the WWE wellness policy if the talent has a valid prescription, is under a doctor’s supervision and if WWE is told about it beforehand.

All performers are required to disclose what medications they are taking and not doing so simply means that you are subject to a wellness policy violation if it is found in your system. WWE is saying that the medication was not properly approved.

Eva’s claim is that she had a legitimate prescription from her doctor. In a statement to TMZ she said, “I am disappointed that this suspension has occurred, yet understand and respect that WWE upholds their Wellness Policy to the letter and won’t compromise on its integrity.”

She added, “I violated policy by not turning in portions of required paperwork in the time frame WWE Medical deemed timely. I look forward to my return!”Six Woman Match @ SummerSlam 2016

Eva Marie had been scheduled to compete at SummerSlam, teaming with Natalya and Alexa Bliss against Becky Lynch, Naomi, and Carmella. But the ban means the 31-year-old diva won’t be able to participate in the match. According to the WWE’s website, the company is now calling the match at this months SummerSlam on Sunday a handicap match and they have simply taken Eva Marie’s name out of the performers.

The social media posts on both his Twitter and Instagram accounts have since been deleted. That is more than likely a good thing, since I don’t see anyone getting “outraged” over her use of Adderall.
