Monday’s Raw featured an epic Women’s Championship encounter between Charlotte and Sasha Banks. This was a spectacular match between the two women; made better with the ejection of Dana Brooke, thanks to some Eddie Guerrero-like methods from Sasha. In the end, Sasha made Charlotte submit to the Bank Statement, and she captured the Women’s Championship. After her victory, Sasha gave an emotional interview, saying that she had this vision since she was a 10-year-old wrestling fan. I loved her interview and I nearly cried with her as she spoke. This was such a wonderful and well deserved moment for The BOSS. Clearly this championship change was made to promote the New Era, and this is a great way to do it. But Sasha will be put to work on August 21, as Charlotte will get her rematch at SummerSlam.

The next night on SmackDown Live, Becky Lynch and Natalya faced off in a rematch from Battleground; this time with Becky winning. After the match, all of SmackDown’s women came out and made themselves known, beginning with NXT alum Alexa Bliss, who (to my slight dismay) remains a heel. Naomi, who hadn’t been on WWE TV in months, appeared later, and it looks like she’s a babyface once again. Carmella, another NXT alum, followed Naomi, and finally, Eva Marie–the evil Red Queen–emerged with a new promo and her same villainous arrogance. SmackDown will definitely be very interesting with these group of women.

melina2Wednesday’s NXT saw Billie Kay in action, as she defeated Santana Garrett. This is why I love that three NXT women were promoted, because I and other fans can finally see women like Billie Kay, Peyton Royce, and hopefully Sara Lee on the NXT program. Thursday’s Impact saw Gail Kim victorious over the evil Madison Rayne, coming a week after Madison attacked Gail and decided to look out only for herself.

The stories out this past week have WWE being very interested in bringing Melina back. In fact, a recent story stated that she’s close to returning! This Friday will mark five years since her WWE release, and she has frequented the indy scene since then. As of now, nothing is official, but if Melina really does come back to WWE, this author will be VERY elated and overjoyed!

A new week begins with Raw tomorrow night, and Gail’s quest to the Knockouts Championship should continue on Impact! Until then!
