Women’s Wrestling Wrap-Up

Welcome to the latest edition of the Women’s Wrestling Wrap-Up, which details everything in women’s wrestling in the past week, beginning with Monday’s Raw.

VikkiGuerreroVPThe 4th of July Raw was quite eventful for the women. First off, Sasha Banks again got the best of Charlotte and Dana Brooke, this time placing the Women’s Champion in the Bank Statement. Later on, Becky Lynch defeated Summer Rae in a match that was supposed to happen a week prior, all the while an announcement revealed that Becky will face Natalya at Battleground on July 24. In between, Vickie Guerrero returned to WWE for the first time in two years; displaying her familiar villainous persona while campaigning to become the new General Manager of SmackDown once the Brand Extension returns next week. The segment would see Vickie escorted by security, and humiliated by Dolph Ziggler when he said that he had never seen her before.

Tuesday’s Impact included a Street Fight between Jade and Marti Bell, which the former won, while Raquel and the BroMans were victorious over Decay. This was the first time Raquel competed since resurfacing as the BroMans’ guru, and before the bout took place, video of Rosemary locking lips with Bram was revealed. Ultima Lucha Dos kicked off the following night with no women’s action, but NXT featured Bayley facing off against Alexa Bliss and winning her match, only to be confronted by Nia Jax again, leading to Bayley challenging Nia to one more encounter.

natalya-attacks-becky-lynch-smac-620x350On the next night’s SmackDown (the penultimate Thursday SmackDown), the evil Natalya delivered yet another attack to Becky Lynch; her second since turning villainous three weeks ago. Natalya’s evil message to her now bitter enemy ended with a Sharpshooter outside the ring, and that was all she wrote. We have still yet to see Natalya compete since her heel turn three weeks ago, while Becky has competed once on either of the two programs. We should see the Queen of Harts in action as early as tonight’s Raw.

A new week begins tonight, and is supposed to feature Sasha Banks vs Dana Brooke on Raw. Regarding the Knockouts, Sienna, Gail Kim, Jade, and Marti Bell will all run into each other for the Knockouts Championship. And Ultima Lucha Dos will continue this Wednesday, and we should see some women’s action. Until then!
