3 Impacts From Impact

Last night’s Impact had a bit of a championship feel, as three of the five titles were defended. What stood out above all of the rest? Here are my 3 Impacts From Impact:

  1. So the rivalry we thought was over…isn’t. Matt Hardy emerged in a wheelchair being pushed by his wicked wife, Reby, and he called out Jeff to demand one more match between the two. I thought Six Sides of Steel was supposed to be it, but apparently the “broken” one wants some more. Of course, Jeff was happy to accept, doing a “Yes!” chant until Reby interrupted him. Of course this lead to the funniest line of the episode:  Jeff telling Reby to “get on her broom and fly away.” Though Jeff got the verbal laugh, Matt got the last laugh, as he leapt off his wheelchair and beat his younger brother down. Matt claimed that he needed six weeks to recuperate, but after the blind side attack, Matt stated that their match will take place next week in their hometown of Cameron, NC. You know, I’m about done with Matt vs Jeff. I want to see Reby compete. I love what she’s been doing as the evil woman behind the even more evil man, but it’s time for Reby to make some noise in the Knockouts Division.
  1. Seriously, the more I see Eli Drake, the more I love this guy! I’ve been a fan of his since his days in Championship Wrestling From Hollywood, and now I see him on Impact as the King of the Mountain Champion, constantly running his mouth, and it’s hilarious! Eli hosted the latest edition of his talk show, Fact of Life, and he had a TNA legend in James Storm as his guest. In his usual loudmouthed fashion, Eli managed to antagonize the Cowboy, and he ended up paying for it–with a Last Call Super Kick. I do sense a KOTM title bout between the two, and I have a feeling that Storm will win the title, because he hasn’t won it yet. Hopefully, if and when Eli does lose the title, it won’t be the end of him, because he is definitely World Championship/main event material, and as Eli would say, that is just a fact of life.
  1. So it looks like Tyrus is now watching the backs of TNA’s international comedy team, Mahabali Shera and Grado. The pair went up against Al Snow and the Tribunal in a six-man tag match, and we were wondering who the third man was. Imagine our sheer shock when Tyrus emerged as Shera and Grado’s partner! Here’s a guy who started off aligning with EC3 and Spud, then he turns on EC3 in favor of the Matt Hardy brand, which Spud also later joined, and he was recently just aligned with Spud as a team, I guess that’s done. I find this alliance so amusing; this big no-nonsense enforcer hanging out with the Abbott and Costello of TNA! I hope this continues on for a long time!

Those are my 3 Impacts From Impact! Next week, Mike Bennett plans to cash in for Destination X, and the Hardys go at it one more time! Until then!
