Women’s Wrestling Wrap-Up

Welcome to the latest edition of the Women’s Wrestling Wrap-Up, which details everything in women’s wrestling in the past week, beginning with Monday’s Raw.

SashaBanksReturnsonRawComing off an explosive Money In The Bank PPV, Raw featured, among other things, Becky Lynch talking about Natalya’s shocking betrayal at the event; attacking Becky after they were defeated by Charlotte and Dana Brooke. At that moment, the evil Natalya appeared and again attacked Becky from behind, while explaining her actions by stating that she is focusing solely on herself for the first time in years. Meanwhile, Charlotte had her hands full with Paige, with their latest encounter being for the Women’s Championship. After Charlotte retained, both she and Dana Brooke would be encountered by the returning Sasha Banks, who took out Dana and showed Charlotte who’s BOSS.

Tuesday’s Impact Wrestling saw Marti Bell defeat Jade in a grudge match coming over a week after Marti cost her former Dollhouse cohort the Knockouts Championship at Slammiversary. I’m still itching to see whose side Rebel will take in this whole thing. Meanwhile, Maria and Mike confronted Dixie Carter yet again, and it led to Dixie being put on a leave of absence. A day before Impact aired, it was announced that TNA signed former WWE Tough Enough contestant Chelsea Green, and she was featured in a video interview with Josh Mathews that same day. Find out more about Chelsea and her career here!

deanna-fbWednesday’s NXT featured Bayley back in action against Deonna Purrazzo, while backstage, Carmella and Alexa Bliss were jockeying for position as far as the NXT Women’s Championship. On Lucha Underground, the women main evented the program with a tag team match, which saw Sexy Star and Mariposa defeat Ivelisse and Taya. The match was for the last two of the seven Gift of the Gods Medallions, with the previous five already awarded earlier in the program. On the next night’s SmackDown, Dana Brooke defeated Becky Lynch in singles action, but both she and Dana were again visited by Sasha Banks, who took down Dana and ran Charlotte off.

A new week begins tomorrow on Raw, and I hope that Natalya is in action this upcoming week. As for the Knockouts, Sienna will defend the Knockouts Championship against this year’s TNA Hall of Famer, Gail Kim. Until then!
