Kyrie Irving started the game out strong scoring 16 points in the first quarter as the Cavaliers lead 33-16 at the end of the first quarter.  Golden State then cut the lead down to single digits in the 2nd quarter mainly because of Harrison Barnes and his three point shooting. Barnes finished the game with 18 points on 7-11 shooting and 2-5 from the three point line.

Cleveland then turned it up a notch in the second half outscoring Golden State 69-47. LeBron James finished the game with 32 points and 11 rebounds. Irving finished with 30 points and 8 assists. His 8 assists in game three were more assists then he had in the first two games combined (3).  James and Irving were just the third set of teammates to score 30 points each in a finals game.  Jr Smith also had a break out game scoring 20 points and shooting 5 of 10 from the three point line. “We finally got back to our game,” said James, whose energy from the start electrified 20,000 fans, and most importantly his teammates. “It was a good flow, a collective team win.”

Klay Thompson struggled scoring just 10 points on 4-13 shooting. Curry struggled as well just scoring 19 points as he only shot 3-9 from the three point line.  The Warriors as a team just shot 27.3% from the three point line compared to the Cavilers shooting 48.0%. Cleveland was able to limit Golden State from making easy baskets and they were able to control the boards.  Cleveland forced turnovers and they were able to capitalize on the turnovers on the fast break.

Game 4 will be Friday night as Cleveland will try to even up the series at 2 games a piece.
