3 Impacts From Impact

Slammiversary is less than a week away, but a lot was announced for the event on the go-home edition of Impact Wrestling. What stood out on this last pre-Slammiversary episode? Here are my 3 Impacts From Impact!

I mentioned in an earlier blog that a Knockouts Championship match had not been set for Slammiversary, and could be officiated on the go-home Impact. I was correct, as Sienna defeated Madison Rayne in a #1 Contender’s match, and Sienna’s shot at Jade and the Knockouts Championship will happen this Sunday at Slammiversary. Both women will also participate at Shine Wrestling’s SHINE 35 event next Friday, with Jade supposedly defending the KO Title against Santana Garrett. However, that is still not a foregone conclusion that Jade will remain champion entering June 17, especially with the way Sienna’s been booked since her debut in TNA. It does look like Maria’s group will definitely go over at Slammiversary, but we’ll see what happens on Sunday.

Last night’s Impact saw the TNA in-ring debuts of “The Tribunal,” Al Snow’s protege’s in his feud with Mahabali Shera and Grado, which began months ago when he attacked both of them and basically considered them disgraces to wrestling. We first saw the duo two weeks prior, when they got involved and helped Snow defeat Grado in a Street Fight. If The Tribunal look familiar, they should. Those of us who watch and follow NXT remember Baron Dax and Basile Barraka as Marcus Louis and Sylvester LeFort, respectively, and they were in NXT together for about three years until their release a few months ago. The Tribunal participated in a 10-man tag team bout, teaming with Decay and Eli Drake in defeating Grado, Shera, Bram, and The BroMans.

The show kicked off with Matt Hardy claiming to be done with Jeff after last week, and even demanding to be added to the World Title contest between Drew Galloway and Bobby Lashley. While Drew denied his demand, he decided to defend his title against Matt on the spot. After Lashley’s interference ended things, Matt was confronted by Jeff Hardy, who appeared on the tron in his Willow persona, and later entered the ring and fought his brother man-to-man. This makes me wonder if we’ll see the Willow character against Matt at Slammiversary. With Matt’s current dark character, it would be fitting.

Those are my 3 Impacts from Impact! Until next week!
