- Chicago Cubs
Last week: #1
The Cubs just keep on rolling. Plus, have you seen what Ben Zobrist did in the month of May? Wow.
- Boston Red Sox
Last week: #2
David Ortiz is killing it in his final season. Mookie Betts had himself a day on Tuesday. He is the 1st player in Red Sox history to have a 3-HR game out of the leadoff spot. Also Xander Bogaerts keeps his hitting streak alive.
- San Francisco Giants
Last week: #3
The Giants finished May with a 21-8 record. It’s still early but hey it is an even year, isn’t it?
- Pittsburgh Pirates
Last week: N/A
Gregory Polanco’s bat has been hot and he’s transforming into a superstar.
- New York Mets
Last week: #7
The Mets hit a lot of home runs, but they struggle to score when they don’t.
- Washington Nationals
Last week: #5
Daniel Murphy is proving to be a real steal for the Nationals. His first two months in Washington have been great.
- Seattle Mariners
Last week: #9
Have you seen this Seattle offense? They’re on fire. Hopefully Felix Hernandez being on the 15 day-DL won’t hurt them.
- Cleveland Indians
Last week: #8
Cleveland took 3-of-4 against their division rival White Sox. Plus, they’re not too far behind Chicago and Kansas City for 1st place in the AL Central.
- Texas Rangers
Last week: N/A
Yu Darvish is back! Enough said.
- Baltimore Orioles
Last week: #4
Baltimore batters are in the top 10 in strikeout percentage. If J.J. Hardy returns this month, he should be able to help them out.
Left off the list this week:
Chicago White Sox (Last week: #6)
The White Sox fell right off my list and out of 1st place in the AL Central. On Saturday, they blew a 7-1 lead in the ninth and they were on a losing streak until Tuesday.
St. Louis Cardinals (Last week: #10)
End of May: Adam Wainwright 5.71 ERA, Michael Wacha 4.99 ERA, Carlos Martinez 4.25 ERA.
