Durant gives Celtics a list of Players they need to sign

There is no surprise who is the biggest free agent attraction this off season and that is Kevin Durant.

The 2012 league MVP or his representatives at Roc Nation reportedly gave the Celtics a list of players to go after. Even though the Celtics are a long shot, them adding a couple more pieces will increase Durant’s interests. I understand that he is the top free agent, and a game changer for a team like the Celtics, but don’t you think Durant is a little cocky in giving a team, any team a list of players to sign in order for him to sign?

But at the same time, what do you do if you are the Celtics? Does a guy like Durant mean that much to you that you allow him to call the shots as to what you do with your team? That is what LeBron is doing in Cleveland, right? And look where they are?

Contenders like the Warriors and the Spurs are likely to be at the top of Durant’s list. Even with that said, there is a very likely possibility that Durant signs a two year deal with a one year option to return to the Oklahoma City Thunder. The reason behind the one year option is because after the 2017 season the league salary cap is expected to hike up and that means Durant could possibly max his contract out to 30 million dollars a year. Therefore, what if Boston “meets Durants demands” and then he still signs with Oklahoma City?

Its about 50-50 for if people think Kevin Durant should leave Oklahoma City. I say if Durant leaves Oklahoma City then he should go to a team like Cavaliers, Warriors, or Spurs. The only problem with that would be salary cap issues. Those teams would have to reconstruct numerous of players contracts to make it work. The three teams I listed are all more talented then Oklahoma City and the only reason I would leave is if it is to a better team. In the end I ultimately think Kevin Durant will stay because I think he loves the City and they can pay him the most.
