Golden State Rallies Late to Tie Series up at 3
- Updated: May 30, 2016

A combination of sloppy basketball late and Klay Thompson’s record breaking 11 three pointers. The Golden State Warriors defeat the Thunder.
For the first three quarters the Thunder were in control. They were led by the usual attack of Durant and Westbrook, who both combined for 57 points total. When the fourth quarter arrived especially late with two minutes left Steph Curry and Klay Thompson took over. Thompson went 11 for 18 from three point range and had a game high 41 points. Most importantly 19 of his 41 points came in the fourth quarter. Steph Curry struggled a bit early in the game but when it mattered most he scored the layup that put the game out of reach and had the Thunder fans looking confused. “Obviously, Klay Thompson was ridiculous,” Golden State coach Steve Kerr said. “I mean, the shooting was some of the most incredible shooting you’ll ever see.” Steph Curry also said “All Klay needs is a sliver of daylight. The shots he made tonight were huge, obviously. But they were shots that he had his feet underneath him, and he just had all the confidence in the world. He understood the moment.”
For the Thunder they struggled in the fourth quarter to sustain consistent offense. Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook struggled as they turned the ball over late when it mattered the most. The Thunder made just three three point shots compared to the 21 that Golden State made. The three point shooting and late game turnovers Golden State was able to create is the reason their will be a game 7.
