Candace Parker scores 26 leads Spark past Sky 93-80

CandaceParkerCandace Parker led the way scoring 26 points to lead the Spark past the Sky. Parker had 16 points in the first half as the Spark ended the half on an 18-2 run. Nneka Ogwumike added 19 points, 9 rebounds, and four assists to complement Parker.  The Spark looked impressive all night consistently keeping a lead of double digits the whole game.  27 of the 30 field goals Los Angles scored on were assisted on, as they moved the ball fluently all game.  In defeat, Jamierra Faulkner scored a career-high 17 for the Sky. The Chicago Sky drop to 1-3 as the Los Angles Spark improve to 4-0.

Tiffany Hayes scores 27 points to lead the Dream by Liberty in OT

TiffanyHayesTiffany Hayes shot 7 for 13 from long range and scored 27 points overall to lead the Dream by the Liberty.  She also leads her team with 11 rebounds. Angel McCoughtry came up huge for the Dream scoring all 15 of her points in the second half of the game. The Dream stepped up big time defensively holding the Liberty to only 2 points in the overtime period, which ultimately made a difference late in the game. Another advantage that was the difference in the game was free-throw shooting. The Dream shot 34 0f 42 from the free throw line compared to the Liberty who shot just 14 of 20. The Dream were able to penetrate in the paint consistently and get to the foul line early and often.  Tina Charles led the way in defeat for the Liberty in defeat with 29 points and 10 rebounds. She also had a career-high with 7 block shots. This was the second straight overtime loss for Tina Charles and the Liberty team. And the win snapped a Dream five-game losing streak.
