50 Shades of Blue

Finally the season is over, and after some internet issues I am able to write about current events which actually have been quite exciting!

I start with our 2nd to last game against the rivals in red Liverpool!

Chelsea: Begovic; Azpilicueta, Mikel, Cahill, Baba Rahman; Fabregas, Matic; Pedro, Willian, Hazard; Traore

Eden+Hazard+West+Bromwich+Albion+v+Chelsea+8ete1FcbtFVlSubs: Amelia, Tomori, Kenedy, Loftus-Cheek, Palmer, Pato, Abraham.

Hiddink went with a lineup that didn’t shock anybody, even with him playing Mikel at centre back again.

Chelsea drew the game 1-1 and were in control for the whole game before a blunder in stoppage time from Begovic gifted Liverpool the equalizer.

Hazard was at his best against Liverpool and ran them ragged, scoring a contender for goal of the season showed he has reached his best level at a time that is too late but does gives us hope for next season.

Tammy Abraham made his debut and didn’t look out of sorts. The Chelsea youth striker made some nice touches and was unlucky not to get on the score sheet.Tammy+Abraham+k9BPOc6sZTwm

We move to the final game of the season where Chelsea hosted Leicester and gave the newly crowned Champions the guard of honor.

The Chelsea fans also gave a warm welcome to former manager Claudio Ranieri and you could see by his emotions that he still holds the club close to his heart.

Chelsea: Courtois , Azpilicueta , Ivanovic , Cahill , Baba , Fabregas , Matic , Pedro , Willian , Hazard , Traore .

Subs: Loftus-Cheek , Abraham , Tomori.

This game was played pretty much at the pace of a friendly and nobody really got out of 1st gear.

Abraham got more minutes in the 2nd half and Tomori came on to make his 1st team debut.

The game finished 1-1 with Fabregas netting a penalty.guus-hiddink-wave

So there it is the season over and a good by to Guus Hiddink. Its been a season of Downs really with very tiny ups. People talk that Hiddink has settled the ship but I totally disagree. Hiddink came at a time when no players really wanted Jose and I think any new manager would have settled the side.

At the time I didn’t say that but now the season has ended and had a time to reflect I think Hiddink was quite poor. Chelsea under Hiddink had 1 victory at home! 1! That is not good enough for a team of Chelsea’s stature. He also picked up 2 wins out of the last 12 games! I think Hiddink also lied a lot regarding the youth and led us to believe he would start a youth team revolution. Yes some players got a few minutes here and there but not in the way he spoke of. All in all I am disappointed with Hiddinks reign as I feel if we had strung some wins together then the champions league would’ve been a realistic aim.

Next season Conte will be here and fingers crossed he can deliver on a monumental scale, and with no European football we can concentrate solely on the league.

In Other News:

JohnTerry2John Terry has signed a new 1 year deal. He gave a speech at our last game of he season and you could tell that he would be here for longer. The club made the U-Turn after the Liverpool game and offered John the deal, which he deserves more than anyone. Captain Leader Legend will be here for another year and hopefully longer.

Radja Nainggolan has decided he no longer wants to play for Chelsea and has said he will be staying at Roma. I feel he has had his ear bent by Courtois about coming to Chelsea but that’s just me being skeptical.

This day 4 years ago Chelsea were crowned Champions league winners. When I look back at the side we fielded I ask myself how on earth did we win that game.

Chelsea have left their 30 million a year deal with Adidas and now signed a multi million pound deal with Nike worth a report 60 million, which doubles their profit.

Diego Costa has been left out the Spain squad for the Euros, however Fabregas, Pedro and Azpi all made the squad.

Pit of the week: Finishing 10th in the league.

Peak of the week: John Terry signing a new deal and leading us into another season.

That is it ladies and Gentleman next weeks blog will be a ratings of the season and my personal awards for the season as it happened and my ratings for each player.

Until Next Time……KTBFFH
