Mark Magana’s Mock NFL Draft 2016 Day 1

Check this out I’m not going to claim I know it all. This mock is based around team needs and general consensus on some of the top picks.  If I get 5 right, I’ll be happy. The NFL draft is anything but set in stone. This year, to me, features very few “safe” picks. None of the guys absolutely blow you away. That’s not to say they won’t be good, simply saying as of right now it’s hard to tell. I pity Todd Mcshay and all those draft experts, I second guessed myself so much it was insane. With all my excuses made check it out!

LA Rams: Jared Goff – QB

Not the best of the two QB’s in my opinion. But it seems the Rams are set on taking him. He’s a Pocket passer who needs weapons of which the Rams don’t have many. Gurley might help him out though.

2015 341 529 4719 64.5 8.92 80 43 13 26 161.3 76.4 82.2
2014 316 509 3973 62.1 7.81 92 35 7 26 147.6 71.5 76.3
2013 320 531 3508 60.3 6.61 89 18 10 32 123.2 48.0 55.8

Philadelphia Eagles: Carson Wentz – QB

The kid is an athlete who can run around and make plays. Trading into this position and not taking one of the top two QB’s would make zero sense.

Pre-draft measurables

San Diego Charger: Laremy Tunsil – OT

This guy is an absolute bruiser of a blocker. In a division against the likes of Mack, Irvin, Aldon Smith, Hali, Von Miller, Demarcus Ware…….yeah I think we see why this just makes sense. It would be nice to fill the hole Weddle left, but it would be a luxury I don’t think the Chargers can afford.

Dallas Cowboys: Jalen Ramsey – CB/S

Elliot? This spot is a wild card. I’m sure Jerry Jones wants Elliot but they just signed Morris in the off-season. Along with that Sean Lee needs some help. Cooler heads prevail and they make the smart pick.

Jacksonville Jaguars: Myles Jack – LB

To me the risk of missing on a guy as talented as Jack is way too high to pass. Bosa is tempting but with Fowler returning from injury they end up going with Jack. If he is healthy? That defense is scary.

Baltimore Ravens:  Joey Bosa – DE

The Ravens are stoked Bosa fell this far. Run to the podium and make the pick.

San Francisco 49ers: Deforrest Buckner – DE

Although Stanley is there I think they prefer to help out their defense. This one was tough for me to decide. Pass rush is crucial on defense though.

Cleveland Browns:  Ronnie Stanley – OT

RG3 is injury prone and Stanley can fill the hole Schwartz left.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Vernon Hargreaves – CBVernonHargreavesINT2

This one has been in almost every mock draft I have seen so i went with it. The Bucs could go defensive line here though if they are not interested in Hargreaves. Shaq Lawson is the first name that comes to mind besides Hargreaves.

New York Giants: Jack Conklin – OT

Its either defensive line or offensive line here. After getting Vernon in free agency, they elect to go O-Line

Chicago Bears: Leonard Floyd – OLB

The Bears go with someone to help bolster their pass rush.

New Orleans Saints: Sheldon Rankins – DT

No secret they are going defense here.

EzekielElliottnoah_spenceMiami Dolphins: Ezekiel Elliot – RB

The Dolphins are excited beyond belief he falls this far.

Oakland Raiders: Reggie Ragland – ILB

Those linebackers….Wow

Tennessee Titans: Taylor Decker – OT

Gotta protect the franchise QB and the best O-Lineman are going fast.

Detroit Lions: Jarren Reed – DT

Need to fill the hole that Suh left. He gets to learn under Haloti Ngata.

Atlanta Falcons: Darren Lee – OLB

Still seeking a better pass rush.

Indianapolis Colts: Noah Spence –DEnoah_spence

The Colts are disappointed that all the top O-Lineman are gone. Spence is intriguing.

Buffalo Bills: Shaq Lawson – DE

Rex Ryan takes a shot at what could be one of the steals of the draft.

New York Jets: Paxton Lynch – QB

Washington Redskins: A’Shawn Robinson – DT

Houston Texans:  Will Fuller – WR

“Thank you” – Brock

Minnesota Vikings: Laquon Treadwell – WR

Big receiver to set opposite Diggs speed.

Cincinnati Bengals: Corey Coleman – WR

Marvin Jones and Muhammed Sanu both gone.

Eli Apple at the NFL Combine.

Pittsburgh Steelers: Eli Apple – CB

Seattle Seahawks: Robert Nkemdiche – DT

Pete chews his gum really vigorously right before making this pick.

Green Bay Packers: Andrew Billings – DT

Kansas City Chiefs: William Jackson – CB

Arizona Cardinals: Artie Burns – CB

Carolina Panthers: Mackenzie Alexander – CB

Denver Broncos: Le’Raven Clark – OT
