The first quarter of the season will be a good test to see how good the Chiefs are in 2016. They will face two 2015 playoff teams in the first four games, including a rematch of the Wild Card game against the Houston Texans where the Chiefs ended their 22 year playoff win drought. The Chiefs will have a bye in week 5 which should give them time to recover from the Sunday night road game. The second quarter of the schedule appears to be the easiest portion of the season but there are games that could potentially be challenging for the Chiefs. The game in Oakland will be a game that could be a factor at the end of the season in determining who wins the AFC West. The Raiders keep getting better and the Chiefs came very close to winning the division title last year. Another great match-up will be against the Colts. Indianapolis struggled last year, due in large part to injuries to Andrew Luck. The Colts are a dangerous team when Luck is healthy and when the Chiefs and Colts play it is always a great match-up.

The third quarter of the schedule is loaded with NFC South teams, playing three teams in four weeks. The Panthers will present the biggest challenge to the Chiefs. The Panthers will present a good test for the Chiefs in the middle of the season and a win could give them confidence heading into the home stretch of the season.panthers-vs-chiefs

The final quarter of the schedule begins with a Thursday night match-up in Oakland. In 2014 the Chiefs played a Thursday night game against on the road against the Raiders. They lost the game and it a big reason why the missed the playoffs that year. The Chiefs will play against the Broncos on Christmas night. The Chiefs will have a home field advantage and you can expect Arrowhead to be crazy on Christmas night.
