50 Shades Of Blue

Well what a shambles of a week.

A shocking result with Man City has shown a side to Chelsea that we haven’t seen for a long time, well at least since Hiddink has been in charge.

Hiddink went with the lineup of:  Courtois, Rahmann, Azpi, Cahill, Ivanovic, Mikel, Fabregas, Loftuscheek, Willian, Pedro, Costa.

It was nice to see Courtois back in goal to see if he has realised his media comments weren’t the best.

Also it was rumored that Oscar pulled a sickie and then left Stamford Bridge before kick off and didn’t hang around to watch his team mates.

Chelsea started off well, with Costa having a goal ruled out for being marginally offside, and as I watched the game I thought to myself ‘ we will go 1-0 down’

My mind was clearly on the ball as we ended up losing 3-0, and put in quite a poor performance after the 1st half. Our defence didn’t show up and were being pulled all over the place, as was Mikel who got taught a footballing lesson by the magic of De Bruyne who drifted in and out of pockets of space and lost Mikel on too many occasions. Courtois got sent off for giving away a penalty and will now face a 3 match ban, just to rumber stamp his poor season.

Chelsea, yes do not have anything to play for but the lack of hunger to play well for fans who had paid a lot of money to watch them was quite frustrating. The midfield was non existent and the gaps that were left when City Countered were quite embarrassing.

In other news:

Chelsea-YouthThe Chelsea youth side retained the champions league beating PSG in the final. The sad thing is that not many of these, if any of these players, will reach the 1st team. How can that be? We constantly spend money on expensive flops when we have an academy which is producing talented youngsters that we refuse to use and let them shine elsewhere only to curse our luck that we let them go! But yes a huge congratulations to the lads for shining brightly on such a dark season.

Conte has arranged a training camp in Austria for the side when he arrives as manager. Conte will be with Chelsea on July 11th at the earliest, which isn’t great preparation for a season in which we need to be rebuilding.

Eden Hazard has had his fall from grace well documented this week, but has come out fighting and pledged to stay at Chelsea. Hopefully under Conte’s leadership he can start to terrorise defences again.

Pit of the week:

The collapse against Man City and lack of passion shown in the game.

Peak of the week:

Youth team retaining the champions league

Next Fixture: 23/04/2016 (a) Bournemouth

Until next time…….KTBFFH
