3 Impacts From Impact

To say that last night’s Impact Wrestling was one for the books would be a huge understatement! See why that statement holds true in this, my 3 Impacts From Impact!

WITHOUT QUESTION, the biggest impact had to be Drew Galloway winning the World Heavyweight Championship from Matt Hardy on an Impact that went long; ending at a few minutes after 11PM. The original main event was set to be Matt vs EC3 for the title, but Dixie Carter decided to add the winner of the Jeff Hardy/Eric Young match to the main event. Jeff won, and despite his brother’s pleading, he remained in the main event. Both challengers were eliminated by EY and Bram (Jeff) and Mike Bennett (EC3), leaving Matt alone to boast. However, Drew Galloway made his presence felt and cashed in his Feast of Fired case, and one Future Shock DDT later, Drew captured the title! I knew that Drew would be pushed to the top title the very second he debuted in TNA. He was ready right from the start, and now the Galloway era has begun!

Another TNA talent who could be champion soon is Maria Kanellis. The Gail/Maria feud was finally played out in the ring last night, as they were on opposite sides of a mixed tag team match, which involved the aforementioned Mike Bennett and Drew Galloway. As I expected, Maria got the surreptitious roll-up on Gail, and now it’s time for the waiting game. When will the title match happen? How will this affect the Knockouts Division?

Before Impact aired, Grado’s evidence that he was screwed during Feast or Fired came to light, and as I (and many others) figured, the video revealed that Eli Drake switched cases with Grado, so in actuality, Grado pulled down the King of the Mountain Championship case, which is why he hijacked it last week. A command decision was made by TNA executive Billy Corgan (yes, the leader of the Smashing Pumpkins) to have Grado and Eli face each other in a ladder match, with a TNA contract for Grado on the line. Both competitors showed out in this match, and there was involvement from Jessie Godderz for Eli and Mahabali Shera for Grado. In the end, Grado emerged victorious and won a new TNA contract. As for the KOTM briefcase, well, that’s still in Eli’s possession, but we should see how that goes.

Those are my 3 Impacts From Impact! Until next week!
