It is finally here, the biggest card of 2016 so far. In the main event Conor McGregor will fight Stockton’s own Nate Diaz at welterweight. In the co-main event Holly Holm will put her bantamweight title on the line against Miesha Tate. Millions will be watching and it is sure to be a historic night.
Holly Holm vs. Miesha Tate
In her second shot at the UFC title, Miesha Tate will face Holly Holm. Tate is coming off a win against Jessica Eye in July, and obviously Holm is coming off her earth shattering victory over Ronda Rousey. Tate is on a four fight winning streak coming off her last fight with Ronda Rousey.
Prediction: Holm by Unanimous Decision
Miesha Tate is a good fighter, but she is not great in any one area. Holm’s elite striking will be the difference in this fight. Tate’s toughness will get her through the fight, but Holm will coast to a decision.
Conor McGregor vs. Nate Diaz
The UFC’s biggest star will be back in action when he takes on Nate Diaz. Diaz is coming off a unanimous decision over Michael Johnson. McGregor has not lost in over five years. This fight will be a good ole fashioned brawl. Neither man will use wrestling or jiu-jitsu extensively and both have good stand-up games.
Prediction: McGregor by TKO, round 4
Diaz’s reach will mess with McGregor early, but I expect Conor to settle in and finish the fight.
