Is Daniel Bryan Retiring? NO or YES!

Unfortunately, the answer according to Bryan himself by means of his official Twitter account is YES!WWE_World_Heavyweight_Champion_-_Daniel_Bryan

Here is the actual statement Bryan posted to his verified Twitter account at 11:07 am this morning; “Due to medical reasons, effective immediately, I am announcing my retirement. Tonight on Raw, I’ll have a chance to elaborate. #gratitude,”

But, there may be a hidden silver lining to this story. Those of us who have been watching WWE for a while realize that everything can be made into a story-line. The WWE is being very tight lipped about all of this but, according to WWE.com they are only saying that Daniel Bryan is retiring from “in-ring competition.” We know what that means! Guest referee, special enforcer, possibly broadcasting. And now with the WWE Network streaming full time, there are a plethora of avenues he may decide to take and still remain with the WWE.

What would I do?

daniel_bryan_triple_hFirst, I would let Bryan retire the way he wants to. Whatever he wants to do. Come out in the very 1st segment and allow to speak from his heart and tell the fans goodbye. I would then do a couple backstage segments where Stephanie and HHH are laughing and joking saying that they knew he would never make it. And really playing up the continued story line of him being a B+ player.

At the WWE pay-per-view Fastlane, I would allow Roman Reigns to win the #1 contenders match (and have Bray Wyatt cost Lesnar the match). The next night on Raw the “Main Event” should be a 4 on 1 handicap match between The League of Nations and Roman Reigns. That match would get crazy out of control and essentially be a beat down of Reigns and have HHH come out and grab a microphone shouting instructions to the other 4.

Then, play the music and have Daniel Bryan appear on the ramp. He announces to HHH and the world that he spoke to the board of directors, and that they have made him interim General Manger from now until WrestleMania (that way he can simply quit the night after WrestleMania if he wants) and he will be evaluated the Monday after WrestleMania live on Raw. That would allow Daniel Bryan to drive the bus to Dallas Texas on the road to Wrestle-Mania.
