A.L. Central Predictions #1 Kansas City Royals

The World Series Champions had an amazing season last year. Motivated by the loss of the World Series the year before the Royals had hunger and drive. During the season, there were problems, the loss of a pitcher Greg Holland, the injury of Alex Gordon, and several players lost a parent during the season. This could have hurt most teams, but the Royals rallied around each other. Proving money can buy players it can not buy a team.

The team did change, Greg Holland and Alex Rios both chose free agency and both are still unsigned.  Ben Zobrist who helped solidify the infield is now a Cub, for better or for worse, Johnny Cueto is now a Giant, and there have been some new members added to the team, Ian Kennedy comes to the Royals with a 4.25 E.R.A and a 9/15 record. Joakim Soria comes into the bullpen, he brings in an 2.53 E.R.A. and 24 saves last year.SalPerezAllStar

Brian Flynn and Tim Collins are coming back from injury.

Ned Yost knows how to manage this team, and thanks to Alex Gordon signing with the Royals for 4 years $72 million dollar deal, the largest in Royals history. This keeps a key dynamic in the Royals organization.  The Royals are not without problems, mostly at 2nd base with Infante but there is Christian Colon in the dugout and it remains to be seen if he could be a permanent replacement. The bullpen has two pitchers who are coming back from injury so time will tell if they can be apart of helping the Royals but for the most part all the pieces of this machine are ready to run. However the solution to the bullpen maybe in the starting rotation with Danny Duffy who has reported being very comfortable with whatever role they Royals put him in. Chris Young also proved to be a jack of all trades when is came to pitching last year. The Royals have the team to win the division and to make it again to the playoffs.
