A.L Central Predictions #3 Cleveland Indians

Mike-Napoli-tnThe Cleveland Indians finished 3rd last season which again is a remarkable feat seeing how they spent most of the season in the bottom tiers of the standings. The Indians made some changes for the 2016 season but not a lot, They signed free agent Mike Napoli to a one year deal. They also signed free agent Rajai Davis to a one year deal. Both of these signings bring not only depth but some veteran experience and some much needed power hitting especially with Napoli and the impressive .734 SLG.

MichaelBrantleyLast Season the Indians cleaned house, trading  Nick Swisher, Michael Bourn to the Atlanta Braves, David Murphy to the Los Angeles Angels,  Brandon Moss, to the St, Louis Cardinals. During a playoff push the Indians lost their ace Corey Kluber for two weeks to a hamstring injury. In the competitive A.L. Central this really hurt any playoff chances.

It’s a new year and the rotation that got the Indians to third and almost to the playoffs is back. Mike Napoli brings a big bat and some good defence to 1st.  Rajai Davis brings some much needed experienced depth in the outfield as regular LF  Michael Brantley is still recovering from shoulder surgery. I have got to see if Manship can keep his impressive .92 E.R.A. The Indians have a good solid team and the only reason I have these guys in 3rd is because the #2 has slightly better stats.
