Hawks Find A Win In The Mile High City!

Hawks Huddle 1-26

On Monday night, not only did the Hawks improve to 12-12 on the road, but they picked up a win in a city that has definitely caused them trouble in the “post Melo era.” The Hawks have not won in Denver since Dec of 2006. In this scenario, it couldn’t have worked out better for Atlanta considering they suffered two heartbreaking losses against the Kings and Suns last week. Need I mention both of them were by single digits.

The Hawks emerged by 14 in this contest, and did so in reasonable fashion. Paul Millsap as usual was doing what he does best and scored a team high 22 pts and pulling down 9 rbs. Jeff Teague looked splendid getting a double-double with 12 pts and 10 asts. Speaking of stats Al Horford grabed an unusual 2 rbs but managed to put up 18 pts, while Bazemore and Korver each chipped in at 9 apiece. The Hawks also shot 50% from the field and managed to only miss 2 FT’s (24-26).paul-millsap-hawks-640x330

Denver on the other hand, had 4 starters in double figures with 6 players making a mark overall. Will Barton led the way with 21, while Gary Haris, Danilo Gallinari, and Nikola Jokic contributed 15 apiece.

The Hawks return to action Wednesday night against “Lob City” a.k.a. the LA Clippers, in a game that won’t feature Blake Griffin due to a hand injury.
