Atlanta Hawks: Whats Next?

The Hawks edged the Mavericks on Wednesday night 98-95 to create their first back-to-back wins this month. Let that also be known that it’s the Hawks first back-to-back in a while.

Being out rebounded is something that doesn’t sound new, but they did edge the Mavs on shooting 48% from the field, and 30% from beyond the arc. If you had a chance to watch the game, there were continuous basket trades, and at one point a long stretch in the game where neither team led by more than a few points (Hawks-6 Mavs-4). The big story was the Fast Break game which killed Dallas on transition defense. 18 Fast Break points for the Hawks as compared to 7 for the Mavs.paulMillsap

Turnovers and 2nd chance points still haven’t favored Atlanta, but none the less they got the job done. “The Anchorman” Paul Millsap lead the team with 20 pts and 11 rbs, while Jeff Teague and Al Horford chipped in with 14 a piece. The Mavericks did a good job at finding the ball for everyone (despite having only 18 assists to the Hawks 26), but all starters scored in double figures with Derron Williams leading the team with 18 pts.

The Hawks look to continue the streak and make it 3 games as they climb the ladder against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Thursday. A game that should prove in favor of either team should they win.
