Rookie Kristaps Pozingis scores 29 to lift the Knicks past the Hornets

Knicks-forward-Kristaps-PorzinKristaps Pozingis continues his impressive rookie campaign with a 29 points and 11 rebounds.

Knicks fans weren’t ready to embrace Porzingis on draft night, when boos rained through Barclays Center after the slender, 7-foot-3 forward was taken with the No. 4 pick. But they sure are ready now – maybe even quicker than the confident Porzingis imagined.

“Sooner or later, yeah. I wasn’t expecting it to be right now,” he said. “But with the hype and being in New York City, it happens that quick.”

Carmelo Anthony stated after the game “It’s still a learning process for him but tonight was a big game, a big way to step up and take control of the game offensively, knock down shots, be aggressive out there, and I’m pretty sure it’ll be the first of many.” Carmelo Anthony dropped 18 points and grabbed 11 rebounds.

Aaron Affalo added 16 points. Kemba Walker had a season high 31 points for the Hornets in a loss. Kemba Walker said in the loss “We missed shots, but we got some good-looking shots.” The Hornets struggled all night to slow down the Knicks three point shooting game, as they let the Knicks shoot 50%. On the flip side the Knicks shutdown there three point shooting limiting them to only 25% from down the arc.  Fridat night the Knicks will try to make it three games in a row as the travel to play the Thunder.
