Monday Morning QB

imrsWashington Redskins quarterback Kirk Cousins had a nearly flawless performance on Sunday. The Redskins defeated the New Orleans Saints 47-14. Cousins has developed a reputation in his career as a quarterback prone to throwing interceptions, but that wasn’t the case Sunday. He picked apart the Saints defense and was 20 of 25 for 324 yards and four touchdowns, also a perfect passer rating of 158.3. His performance Sunday is certainly a high point, but it comes after two other outings where he protected the ball well. Cousins has now thrown eight touchdowns and one interception in the last three weeks.d46c81_24d1a1c7ae9045a38a731df496a7a692

There was an even sweeter moment for Cousins after the game. Earlier this year, Kirk’s father, Don was diagnosed with cancer and wasn’t able to attend any games, until Sunday. He gave the game ball to his father with a heartfelt hug. “To have him back was exciting and to have a game like that was a lot of fun, gave him the game ball”, Cousins said. “He just said, ‘Thank you. Thanks for a great day.” Cousins closed the heartfelt story by saying, “It put a smile on his face and it was special for our family and we’ll enjoy it tonight.” What a moment and what a game for Kirk Cousins!
