Bucks Keep 76ers Winless

It was certainly not easy and it certainly was not pretty but the Milwaukee Bucks did enough to keep the Philadelphia 76ers winless Wednesday night at the Bradley Center by a score of 91-87. The win was the second consecutive victory for the Bucks and moved their record to 2-3 on the young season.

NBA: Preseason-Minnesota Timberwolves at Milwaukee BucksGreivis Vasquez had his best game in a Bucks uniform since his draft night acquisition. He hit 4/12 shots for 11 points and five assists in 22 minutes. His defense and energy helped the Bucks close a seven point deficit at the end of the third quarter. Vasquez also had the highest plus minus of anyone on the Bucks roster as when he was on the floor the Bucks outscored the 76ers by 20.

Greg Monroe had another sold performance for the Bucks as he hit 7/14 shots for 18 points, eight rebounds, four assists and three steals in 36 minutes. He has been an extremely consistent presence among a lot of other moving parts in the Bucks line-up in the early portion of the season.

The Bucks did a much better job of taking care of the ball in this game. They had only 10 turnovers that the 76ers turned into 11 points. The Bucks forced the 76ers into 19 turnovers and converted those into 24 points.

The Bucks played without three players due to injury but they had three players in double figures for scoring. Once this team gets healthy it could develop into one of the deeper teams in the league. Devolving some depth and the ability to potentially have many offensive threats in a given game could prove to be the positive of the team dealing with these injuries at the beginning of the season.

In a match-up of two high draft picks in consecutive years from Duke the advantage went to Jahlil Okafor who led the 76ers with 21 points compared to just two points for Jabari Parker of the Bucks who was making his season debut from a torn ACL.

The Bucks continue one of their busier weeks of the season by traveling to Madison Square Garden for an opening night rematch with the Knicks on Friday night.
