Pick Six: Week Nine

“Pick Six” is a new weekly article where I will choose six fantasy football questions asked by YOU over on Twitter! Questions for the article can be asked any time from Monday through Tuesday afternoon, just send them to @FantasyFlurry or @cleatgeeks. Of course, you can ask other questions anytime during the week and I will answer them.

1) 360°FantasyFootball @360FFB —

Q: Is Devonta Freeman a player to try and trade for, or a player to trade away if I have him?

DevontaFreemanDevontaFreemandevonta-freeman-nfl-atlanta-falcons-dallas-cowboys-850x560A: I’ve been on the record of saying to sell-high on Freeman a couple of weeks ago, and I still feel that way. He is a small guy who has had issues staying healthy in the past, and is running behind an offensive line who also struggles to stay healthy. If they continue with a heavy workload, he will break down, which I think they know. I think Tevin Coleman will work his way up to about ten touches per game. So yes, I would try to trade him IF I can sell-high. Don’t look to sell him just because. You could also trade for him if you are desperate at your RB slot, but I wouldn’t offer a ton.

2) Thomas Gibbons @tagiii97 —

Q: Can Vernon Davis be a top TE in Denver?

A: It depends on what you feel “top” is. I think he will be in the 8-12 range among tight ends once he becomes familiar with the offense, but he has the potential for top-five. We all know how both Peyton and Kubiak feel about tight ends, so the situation is definitely right for him. Look for VD to use his speed to run right up the seam against defenses.

3) drew @cakersrsbk Q: Should I trade Andre Ellington for Giovanni Bernard? I am in desperate need of a RB, I lost L.Bell. PPR League.

gioA: This is a tough one. I would obviously first hit the waiver wire and look for guys who can help within the next couple weeks: D. Williams, Langford, P. Thomas, Blue. Other adds that will require more of a wait-and-see are C. Michael, Spiller, M. Jones, D. Cobb, and J. Bell. If I had to do that trade I would. I feel given their respective roles as change-of-pace guys, Bernard will have the larger role. If Bernard has a good week like he very well could, I may try to package him with someone and trade him to the Hill owner. With Ellington I feel like you’re just hoping for Chris Johnson to get hurt.

4) The Green Nation @IBleedGreen24_7 —

Q: Would you make this trade? I get Palmer, Evans, Stewart. I give Luck, Ingram, Hilton. PPR League.

A: Yes, I would do that trade. Palmer is playing MUCH better than Luck, Evans has more potential than Hilton I feel, and Stewart and Ingram are pretty even.

GaryBarnidge5) 2 – PLAYOFF BOUND @jssg99 —

Q: Trade Latavius Murray for Gary Barnidge? My other RBs are McCoy, Ingram, D. Lewis, and Stewart. TE is Green.

A: Yes I would do the trade. You have a lot of depth at running back, and you’d be trading for the #2 scoring tight end.

6) Cleat Geeks @cleatgeeks —

Q: Which two running backs should I start this week? I have Martin, Miller, Stewart, Lacy, and  Vereen.

A. I would start Martin vs NYG and Stewart vs GB. Both of those guys have been running hard and have good matchups. I’m nervous about Miller playing the Bills who have had an extra week to prepare, and Lacy who has to face Kuechly and the rest of that defense.

Thank you to everyone who submitted questions this week, and sorry if yours didn’t get picked! Make sure to send more questions to @FantasyFlurry this week to get answers/advice, and also send them on Monday-Tuesday afternoon for a chance to make it in next week’s “Pick Six”!
