After missing the first two rounds of the postseason, Juan Uribe is on the Mets’ World Series roster. The veteran infielder was out since Sept. 25 because of a chest injury.Juan+Uribe+New+York+Mets+v+Miami+Marlins+cBFli7M-O2-l

The World Series begins tonight from Kauffman Stadium (7:30 p.m. ET air time on FOX, 8 p.m. ET game time), with Mets right-hander Matt Harvey toeing the rubber against Royals right-hander Edinson Volquez.

Uribe replaced rookie infielder Matt Reynolds, who did not debut in the National League Division Series or NL Championship Series after taking the spot of shortstop Ruben Tejeda, who is out for the rest of the postseason because of a fractured fibula on a controversial slide by the Dodgers’ Chase Utley.

This move makes a lot of sense for the Mets. And, it gives them 1 person on the roster with World Series experience. That is correct, no one else on the roster has ever been to the World Series. David Wright is a great story this postseason, coming back from his injury that was found to be a disease and actually contributing. But it is nice to have a quality back-up in case something wrong during a game.

Should Uribe’s health preclude him from playing in the Fall Classic, the Mets can replace him on the roster with permission from the Commissioner’s Office, but he’d be ineligible for the remainder of the series.

Here is the postseason schedule for the entire 7 game series.
