Illinois gets back on track, Big Test Ahead vs. Nebraska
- Updated: October 1, 2015

The fighting Illini got back to their winnings way this past weekend. Illinois hosted middle Tennessee and it turned out to be a battle.
Illinois won on a late, 51 yard field goal by Taylor Zalewski.
At one point, Illinois was up by 12 but let the Blue Raiders score two touchdowns in the forth quarter to go up 25-24.
Wes Lunt passed for 238 yards on 29-49 passing and one touchdown. Josh Ferguson led the team in rushing with 83 yards and Geronimo Allen led all receivers with 128 yards.
The Illini also had 25 first downs and 378 total yards.
This week, Nebraska comes to Memorial Field. Starting WR Jordan Westercamp will be giving the Illini secondary trouble. Wes Lunt will look to take over the passing game as southern Mississippi threw for 447 yards last week.
This will be the first big test for the Illini. While North Carolina was a very good team, this opens up conference play for Illinois. Illinois’ d-line has been dominate so far and the linebackers have played well. It will be a challenge for the secondary as Tommy Armstrong Jr. has been rolling and have the WR core to destroy teams secondary.
Nebraska vs. Illinois kicks off at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 3 at Memorial Stadium on the Big Ten Network.
