Rules For The Chase
- Updated: September 4, 2015

Rules for the chase are usually changing, but this year the rules are the same as last year’s chase (unless they change them in coming weeks which I don’t see happening.)
THE RULES TO GET INTO THE CHASE
1) To get into the chase you have to qualify for all 26 races going into the last 10 weeks, unless you have medical reasons why you can’t compete for a race, or multiple races then NASCAR can grant a wavier for you. All waivers are subject to approval by NASCAR.
2) You have to be in top 30 in points, and have at least one win.
3) The only other way to get in the chase is to be in the top 16 in points, and not have 16 winners in the top 30 in points. If this is the case, wins do not matter, and only points dictate entrants into the chase.
THE RULES ONCE THE CHASE STARTS
1) There are 16 drivers in the chase every 3 races with 4 chase drivers eliminated after each set of 3 races.
2) After any set of 3 races any chase driver who does not win one of the three races, and is between 13-16 in points is eliminated from the chase’
3) In races 4-6 the same applies as any driver who does not win a race that is in the chase and is between spots 9-12 are then eliminated from the chase.
4) Races 7-9 are the same any chase driver that does not win and is in spots 5-8 is eliminated from the chase.
5) Finally, going into the championship race the drivers who are left in spots 1-4 will have one race to win the championship.
6) The highest finishing driver out of the 4 will win the championship. This means if the highest driver still left in the chase finishes 2nd then the other 3 drivers have to finish 3rd or worse, and the driver finishing 2nd will win championship.
HERE ARE THE FINAL 10 RACES IN ORDER;
1.Chicagoland
2. Loudon
3. Dover
Drivers 13-16 are eliminated.
4. Charlotte
5. Kansas
6. Talladega
Drivers 9-12 are eliminated.
7. Martinsville
8. Texas
9. Phoenix
Drivers 5-8 are eliminated.
10. Homestead Miami
The highest out of the four chase drivers is crowned the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Champion.
