What the Montreal Canadians lacked for in goal scoring, they were definitely able to make up for in keeping pucks out of the net last season. It was another somewhat successful year for Montreal, though a lack of scoring again found them in a hole too deep to dig out of against the Tampa Bay Lightning. Since their conclusion in Playoff contention, it has been a very quiet offseason. The Canadiens did little to change their overall roster, aside from trading one forward for another and giving Alexander Semin a chance to bring life back into a once very optimistic NHL career.

CareyPriceThe main question for Montreal is whether or not they can put more pucks in the back of the net. Last year’s Playoffs marked the 2nd season in a row that the Canadiens couldn’t produce enough to balance the solid backstop production of Carey Price. This is a telling statement and goes to show that even when you have the NHL’s most elite goaltender; if you can’t score, you’re not going to be able to win. The Canadiens still continue to be a top contender and there is no reason to believe that they won’t be among the top in the league next season.

2015-2016 Season Projection: 2nd in the Atlantic Division
