The Stage is Set & The Pressure is on for John Fox

The NFL season is quickly approaching. The Hall of Fame game is next week, which will kick off the NFL pre-season. It is shaping up to be an entertaining season with coaching changes, impressive rookies, and a lot of hype from fans. There will also be plenty of pressure on all teams to win but there is one head coach in particular that has a lot of pressure to win this year and that is Chicago Bears John Fox.
Entering his first season as the Bears head man, Fox will definitely have a lot of pressure on him. It hasn’t been easy for Bear fans. Jay Cutler continues to be the most hated player in Chicago. Marc Trestman was brought in to take this team to new heights and he led himself to his dismissal. Phil Emery’s moves did nothing but hurt the organization. Bears fans, myself included, wish that Lovie Smith was still here running the show. The Bears defense has not been the Monsters of the Midway since he left. There were flashes and I thought “its back” but it failed to be true.
Kevin White heads the list of off-season acquisitions. He will have big shoes to fill with no Brandon Marshall on the roster. Eddie Royal was also added to give Cutler another target. Other signings of Pernell McPhee, Antrel Rolle, and Tracey Porter will look to aid to the new 3-4 defenses in Chicago.
John Fox is a great football mind. His experiences will ultimately coming in handy when dealing with the rebuilding bears. Despite the embarrassing Super Bowl loss, Fox knows what it takes to get there. Fox also brought his offensive coordinator with him which is a great advantage.
All these reasons are why Fox has a lot of pressure on him. The Bears have not made the playoffs since 2010. As a fan, it has been hard to watch my favorite team essentially fail every year since then. Fox has all the right intentions and knows winning needs to return to Chicago. The pressure is on and I’m excited to see him deliver like he has in the past.
