Tuesday’s Top 10

Last week’s #2 team has fallen out of the top 10. Last week in those 10 games they were 5-5 and this week they were even worse with a 2-8 record so the Minnesota Twins have fallen out, plus the Yankees lost their grip on 1st place in the A.L. East and out of the top 10. Only 2 teams in the entire National League won 7 of their last 10 games. 2 teams in the American League have won 8 of their last 10. But, 11 teams have won at least 6 of their last 10 games. And only 1 team has lost 9 of 10 games. My point is that there is a lot of parody in MLB this year. No one team is dominate, therefore it is difficult to pick the top 10 teams. But here we go!

10) Baltimore Orioles last week unranked- If this is going to be a top 10 of the week the Orioles have to be in this countdown. They have won 8 of their last 10 and their offense has taken off.buckshow2

9) New York Mets last week unranked- I keep putting them at 11th or 12th in this top 10 countdown. This week I finally put them in the top 10. They continue to lead the N.L.East, went 6-4 in their last 10, and 3 in a row.

8) Los Angeles Dodgers last week #6- They did go 6-4 in their last 10. But they have lost 2 in a row and still have only won 12 road games. They are basically leading a weak division.

7) Houston Astros last week #4- They continue to slide, and they seem desperate when they call up additional prospects for a club that is trying to prove they belong.

6) Texas Rangers last week #6- They are 5 games over .500, went 6-4 in their last 10 and are 2.5 games back of Houston. But they made up little ground on the Astros.

5) Tampa Bay Rays last week #9- They are now in 1st place in the A.L. East and have a spectacular pitching staff that no one knows about.

3) Kansas City Royals last week #3- They have pulled away slightly from the rest of the A.L. Central pack. They are the 11 games over .500 and went 6-4 in their last 10 games.

2) Pittsburgh Pirates last week #7- They have been hot for a month straight. They are 7-3 in their last 10, have run 6 straight and a 1.84 ERA for the month of June.

1) St. Louis Cardinals last week #1- This team continues to amaze me. They loose seemingly a different starter every week yet they continue to win each and every week. They are 43 and 21, by far the best record in the league.
