Tuesday’s Top 10
- Updated: June 10, 2015

I am more than likely going to get some flack for dropping the Washington Nationals out of my Top 10 this week. But they are 2-8 in their last 10 while loosing to some not so stellar teams, (none of which are in the top ten) and they are a game under .500 on the road. I also dropped the Angels out of my top 10. They have lost 5 straight, are 5-5 in their last 10 and have fallen to a game below .500. Lastly the Indians fell out as well. But, they did not perform bad, just did not do well enough to overcome the 3 teams from the A.L. East. The other thing I should talk about is why the Mets’ are not in my Top 10. They are a half game up on a team that just went 2-8 in their last 10. They themselves went 4-6 and they are 9 games under .500 on the road for the season. They are not a Top 10 team. Here are the ones that are.
10) Toronto Blue Jays Last Week unranked- They are 7-3 in their last 10. They have won 6 in a row and their offense has finally started to click.
9) Tampa Bay Rays Last Week unranked- They are also 7-3 in their last 10, they are now 4 games over .500 and are doing it with little or no recognizable players.
8) New York Yankees Last Week unranked- They are now 7 games over .500. They have won their last 6 in row as well. But, what puts them above the Jays and the Rays is their spot in the standings in the suddenly competitive A.L. East.
7) Pittsburgh Pirates Last Week #9- They are suddenly 2nd in the N.L. Central 5 games over .500 and have won 6 of their last 10 games. In last weeks column I predicted they would overtake the Cubs by this weeks column. They did not, but they did tie them.
6) Texas Rangers Last Week #7- They went 7-3 in their last 10 overtaking the Angels for 2nd place in the A.L. West. They are now 3 games over .500 and only 1/2 of a game out of the 2nd Wild Card spot. And don’t look now, but they are only 3 games back of the slumping Astros.
5) Los Angeles Dodgers Last Week #6- Don’t think that because they have moved up a spot that they have impressed me. They have not. They went 4-6 in their last 10, and are still 5 games under .500 on the road. If the Pirates and the Rangers keep up their pace they will overtake this lackluster Dodger team next week.
4) Houston Astros Last Week #2- This was a hard decision as 3 of my top 4 teams decided to tank last week. But, Houston has lost 5 in a row, and so they fall to the 4th spot.
3) Kansas City Royals Last Week #4- They are tied with the Twins for the league lead, but finish a spot below them because of their 4-6 record in their last 10 games.
2) Minnesota Twins Last Week #1- They fall from the top spot because of their play over the last week. They are 5-5 in their last 10 but have lost 5 of their last 6 games. If not for the poor play of both the Astros and the Royals they would have fallen further.
1) St. Louis Cardinals Last Week #3- I don’t know how this team does it! They are 18 games over .500 and have lost several key players to injury the latest being Matt Holiday. They have gone 6-4 in their last 10 and have only suffered 7 losses at home.
