Spurs snap up Austrian defender
- Updated: June 2, 2015

Tottenham have signed Kevin Wimmer from Cologne for an undisclosed fee.
Wimmer, an Austrian defender with one international cap, will join Spurs on a five year deal.
The 22 year-old left LASK Linz of Austria to play for the Bundesliga club in 2012 and has gone on to make 76 appearances for Cologne.
Reports suggest that the fee for the player was around $4.3 million.
A statement on the Tottenham Hotspur website read; “Kevin’s gone on to become a regular in the Cologne defence, as they earned promotion to the German top-flight.”
“He was a standout performer in their first season back in the Bundesliga.”
