Gerrard and Lampard both score on final Premier League appearances
- Updated: May 30, 2015

Sunday saw both Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard’s final Premier League games before they head off to the MLS.
Both players managed to score in their farewell appearances, however each were on the end of very different scorelines.
Former Chelsea legend Lampard agreed a deal to join new MLS franchise New York City, but was loaned to Manchester City for the season.
City ended the season as runners up to champions Chelsea and bowed out with a 2-0 victory over Southampton at the Etihad Stadium.
The 36 year-old put City ahead just after 30 minutes, his 259th club career goal.
Lampard won the Premier League three times with Chelsea, as well as four FA Cups, two League Cups, one Champions League title and Europa League as well.
Gerrard enjoyed an emotional farewell at Anfield last week and played his final Premier League game on Sunday before he heads to the States.
He managed to score against Stoke City but there was to be no fairytale end to the 34 year-old’s Liverpool career.
The Reds ended up going down 6-1 at the Britannia Stadium, meaning they finished the season in a disappointing 6th place.
The pair could face each other on August 23rd when Gerrard’s LA Galaxy host Lampard’s New York City FC in the MLS.
