Livermore tests positive for cocaine

hullcityHull City midfielder Jake Livermore has been suspended by the club after he tested positive for cocaine.

The former Tottenham player failed a random drugs test on April 25th following the Tigers 2-0 win against Crystal Palace.

The 25 year-old would have featured against his former club on Saturday as the Tigers battle to avoid relegation.

Livermore moved to the KC Stadium in August last year for a fee of $8million.jakeLivermore2

He received his one and only England cap in a 2-1 friendly win against Italy in 2012.

According to an FA, Premier League and Football League statement released prior to today’s news read; ‘Any player who tests positive for a social drug out of competition is charged and subject to a sanction which ordinarily includes a suspension from all football activity for a period of up to six months for a first time offence. They are also subject to target testing for a period of two years.’
