Which Cubs Deserve Your All-Star Vote?
- Updated: May 14, 2015

Voting has begun for 2015 All-Star game that will be held on Tuesday, July 14th at Great American Ball Park in Cincinnati. The Chicago Cubs have eight players on the All-Star ballot. The list includes Anthony Rizzo, Starlin Castro, Kris Bryant, Dexter Fowler, Chris Coghlan, Miguel Montero, Tommy La Stella, and Jorge Soler. Rizzo and Castro both made the NL team last year. Which of these Cubs deserve your vote the most?
Anthony Rizzo – Rizzo remains among the National League’s on-base percentage leaders, currently ranked third. In his past 20 games, he is batting .364 with six doubles, one triple, six home runs, 17 runs, 14 RBIs and 8 walks. Rizzo has reached base safely 53 times in his last 117 plate appearances and 61 times overall this season. He also leads all major league left-handed hitters with a .458 batting average against left-handers and he has already achieved his career high in stolen bases with seven. Anthony Rizzo deserves your vote, it’s a no-brainer.
Starlin Castro – Despite being part of trade rumors and not having the best season so far, Starlin still deserves your vote. He’s very good
offensively and racks up those RBIs. Castro ended the month of April with .325/.349/.410 line as well as two home runs, 12 RBIs, and two stolen bases in 83 at-bats.
Kris Bryant – People might say he hasn’t been in the majors long enough, but Bryant has been helping the Cubs win ballgames. He may have struggled to get his first home run, but now he’s hit three in four days. 3 home runs, 18 RBIs, and an on-base plus slugging percentage of .810. There’s no denying Kris Bryant is fun to watch even if you aren’t a Cubs fan.
