Oakland and Boston swing a Trade
- Updated: May 10, 2015

The Athletics are looking up at every other team in the division, partially because of that bullpen, and needing to make a move heading into the long summer. Oakland was 29th in the league in bullpen ERA in the early going in 2015 as of Saturday night, and adding an experienced arm who has been in the league since 2006 certainly cannot hurt given the stats.
So, The Oakland Athletics bolstered their bullpen Saturday with the addition of right-handed pitcher Edward Mujica via a trade with the Boston Red Sox. The timing is interesting because Boston recently designated Mujica for assignment. He boasts a 1-1 record with a 4.61 ERA in 13.2 innings of work this season, and opponents hit .294 with three home runs against him in that span.
The Athletics gave up cash considerations and a player to be named later to acquire Mujica.
