Eden Hazard named PFA Player of the Year
- Updated: April 28, 2015

Chelsea’s Eden Hazard was named PFA Player of the Year on Sunday night, while Tottenham’s Harry Kane was named Young Player of the Year.
On winning the top award Hazard told the BBC; “I’m very happy. One day I want to be the best and what I did this season is play very well, Chelsea played very well.” The Blues are currently 10 points clear at the top of the Premier League table and need two more wins to remain five games from clinching the title.
Hazard tops the charts for most chances created in the league this season (88), most dribbles attempted and completed and most fouls won.
“I don’t know if I deserve to win but it is good for me. It is better to be voted by the players – they know everything about football,” Hazard said. “Personally I have played a good season, I have been there in the big games and I scored a lot of important goals, this is why I’m better this season.”
The Belgian playmaker has scored 13 goals and created a further eight for The Blues this season. He beat team mate Diego Costa, Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea, Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez, Liverpool’s Philippe Coutinho and Spurs striker Harry Kane to the award.
Kane’s superb season for Tottenham was recognised, though, as he scooped the Young Player of the Year accolade.
The 21 year-old has scored 20 Premier League goals so far this season and made his international debut last month. The centre forward has also created four goals for his team mates this season.
Both Hazard and Kane made it into the PFA Team of the Year, with the England striker the only Tottenham representative. Hazard, meanwhile, is one of half a dozen Chelsea players to make the team, reflecting the Blues domination of the Premier League this season.
PFA Team of the Year:
Chelsea’s Ji So-Yun scooped the Women’s Player of the Year award while Arsenal’s Leah Williamson picked up the Young Player of the Year gong.
