Blackhawks Advance, Eliminate Predators
- Updated: April 28, 2015

The Blackhawks eliminated the Predators from the Stanley Cup playoffs on Saturday, April 25th (4-3) after six games. The win clinched a 4-2 series victory for the Blackhawks. They overcame another big first-period deficit then a goalie swap for the second time against Nashville. For most of the series, the Blackhawks played sloppy, but they came back right in time.
Game 1
In the opening game of the series, Joel Quenneville pulled Corey Crawford after he gave up three goals on just 12 shots and replaced him with Scott Darling. The Blackhawks rallied from a 3-0 deficit and beat the Predators 4-3 in double overtime.
Game 2
It seemed destined to become another classic through two periods, but the Predators poured on goals late. The Predators won 6-2.
Game 3
Brandon Saad, Jonathan Toews, and Marian Hossa were the game’s best; combing for two goals and three assists. The Blackhawks won 4-2.
Game 4
Brent Seabrook scored the goal to win the game 3-2, one minute into the third overtime period.
Game 5
The Blackhawks looked to end the series, but the Predators played for their playoff lives. In the third period, they scored four times. The Predators beat the Blackhawks 5-2.
Game 6
After starting Darling in Game 6, Quenneville made a switch again after he surrendered three goals on 12 shots, just like Crawford in Game 1. The Blackhawks proved that they may be down, but they’re never out. Duncan Keith scored at 16:12 in the third period to win the series.
The Chicago Blackhawks will face the Minnesota Wild in round two of the NHL playoffs.
