Chelsea skipper John Terry has signed a new one-year contract keeping at Stamford Bridge until the end of the 2015/16 season.

The former England skipper has made 661 appearances for the Blues, captaining them on more than 500 occasions. The centre-back will be 35 years-old by the time his new deal expires at the end of next season.

Terry captained Chelsea in their Capital One Cup Final victory over Tottenham earlier this month, earning him his 13th major trophy win with the club – and they are on course to lift the Premier League title in May.

Terry told the club’s website; “After adding another major trophy to my collection this month I hope myself, the players and manager can continue to bring success to our club. Playing for this great club makes me so proud. And as always I would like to thank the fans who have continually supported me.”
